Name: Jaimie McGinty
Job title: Lead Process Engineer

Describe your role:
My role requires me to work as the technical interface with the customer base, implementing customer data into our system and creating a process to introduce the product to the manufacturing team. This involves creating all documentation from start to finish ensuring this is kept up to date, and capturing any changes made to the product.

How would you explain your job to a member of the public?
My role is to really become an extension of the customers engineering team. I take a data pack that I receive from a customer and turn this into a working document for our site from product design for manufacturability, through optimising the build process, to ensuring we are building quality into the product from the outset. This document supports all departments to manufacture the product from start to finish to being shipped to the customer.

What could you not do your job without?
All the team from top level to shop floor, all are key players in business. I have a very strong core to the team who I can rely on for support, additional knowledge etc. I could not do my job without this team.

What is the most important skill you need for your job?
Communication/people skills. As part of my role, I communicate with all departments. Each department I see as my internal customer because at some point within the process the work I do will have an impact on every department. Having good interpersonal skills is the key to ensuring a smooth process

Describe how your role relates to others/fits with the end to end solution at CB:
As a process engineer it’s my responsibility to ensure all departments clearly understand and execute the product through manufacturing and the process requirements for each specific customer, acting as the technical voice of the customer within the business.

What advice would you give your 21 year old self? (assuming you are over 21!)
Always listen and learn from the bottom up i.e. gain as much knowledge of the overall process. Be honest and never judge people before knowing them.

How do you relax?
Spending time with the family, long walks with the dog (Coco), watching football.

What superpower would be most useful in doing your job at CB?
Captain America, not so much for his superpower but for his leadership skills and the way he keeps his team of Avengers together during adversity.
